  • What is Microblading?
Microblading is a form of permanent makeup. Using a handheld tool, coloured pigment is implanted into the upper layer of the dermis, creating life like hair strokes to mimic the hair already in your brows.
  • I'm interested! - how do I book?
Great News! We are excited to work with you to create some gorgeous brows. Just fill out a booking enquiry form or go ahead and book an appointment online. Then you will receive a consultation to determine the colour and shape of the permanent makeup you desire. Factors such as your makeup style, skin tone, hair colour, and desired outcome will be considered to determine the design of the permanent makeup that will be most flattering and suitable for you.
  • How long will microblading last?
This is something that varies based on many factors; on average the brows will last 1- 3 years in the skin if they arent touched up. Touch ups are required every 12-18 months as they do fade over time, but the frequency of these touch ups is dependent on many factors such as; skin type (ie. oilier skin types will fade faster, as the natural oils push the pigment from the skin), sun eposure, lifestyle factors, chemical peels.
  • What is the difference between the Simply Chic, the Perfectly Powdered, & the Sian Louisa Signature Brows?"
All three brows are created using a handheld tool but using different needles and different techniques, completely difefrent styles are created. The Simply Chic Brow is a style of microblading, where we mimic the hairstrokes. This is usually a very soft, natural look that is undetectable. The Perfectly Powdered Brow, also known as 'ombre', is a shading technique using a special tool that creates tiny little pixels. This style mimics powder or pencil makeup instead of hairstrokes, giving a deeper more defined look. The Sian Louisa Signature Brow is a combination of both techniques. Using hairstrokes to create the body of the brow and then adding shading through out the brow for more depth and definition.
  • Which style is right for me?
This comes down to many different factors; personal preference, your skin type, how much natural hair you have already, medical conditions and lifestyle. The Simply Chic Brow is great for some with dry to combination skin, not
  • Are there any reasons why I wouldn't be able to get permanent makeup?
The following list of conditions and/or situations are contraindicated for microblading and will determine whether or not you are a candidate: Eczema (in the eyebrow area) Psoriasis (in the eyebrow area) Keratosis Pilaris (in the eyebrow area) Dermatitis (itchy and flaky skin in the eyebrow area) Moles/Bumps/Piercings, Raised Skin (in eyebrow area) Trichotillomania (in eyebrow area) Botox (must wait 3 weeks following botox if in brow area) Sunburn/Suntan (in brow area - must wait until skin returns to normal color) Vacationing (make sure to plan your vacation at least two weeks following your microbladed eyebrows so that they have time to heal before "fun in the sun") Blood Thinners (microblading will create excessive bleeding) Heart Conditions (oftentimes taking blood thinners) Hemophilia (excessive bleeding if microbladed) Pregnant (Absolutely not!) Breast-feeding (Absolutely not!) Rosacea (skin too sensitive and will not hold color) Sensitive Skin (skin too sensitive will not hold color) Chronic Acne/Excessively Oily Skin (hairstrokes will blur together) Large Pores (in eyebrow area will cause hairstrokes to blur together) Deep Wrinkles (the result will appear uneven) Natural Redhead (skin is too sensitive and will not hold color) Thin-Skinned (skin to fragile and hypersensitive) Previous Permanent Eyebrows (microblading will not implant properly) Accutane (severe acne medication creates tissue-thin skin - must wait an entire year following Accutane usage to regain skin integrity) Retin-A (creates very thin skin and must wait one year following usage of this product) Retinol/Vitamin A (discontinue the use of these products on forehead/brow area for at least 30 days prior to microblading procedure) Autoimmune Diseases (such as Lupus, Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia - skin health is too compromised for microblading)
  • Will it hurt?
You may experience a minor and tolerable degree of scratching/pricking. A topical anesthetic is used to reduce discomfort and promote relaxation. The treated area may be slightly tender immediately following the procedure. Tenderness will reduce within a few days post-treatment.
  • Can I swim with my new brows?
Not for the first 10 days. After this you can splash around all you like! But if you are going on holiday, remember to wear 50 spf on your brows to protect them from the sun and stop them from fading.
  • What is the aftercare?
You will be given full aftercare advise on the day of your appointment. But the main points you want to be aware of are as follows; Use a fresh pillowcase Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of color No facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for one week Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors. Avoid heavy sweating and long hot showers for the first 10 days. Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days Avoid swimming, lakes, hot tubs for the first 10 days Avoid topical makeup including sunscreen on the area DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area. Washing your hair is fine, but we advice that we wash it at the nd of your shower so that your brows get mimimal exposure to running water.
